The Murder of Officer John Snider
One of the most notable crimes that recently happened in Northern Kentucky was the murder of Officer John Snider from the Florence Police Department. On January 4th, 2020, Officer Snider was responding to a call about a suspicious vehicle when he was shot by a suspect who was later identified as John Devine Jr.The incident sparked outrage and shock among the community as Officer Snider was known for his dedication and service to the community. He had been with the Florence Police Department for 23 years and was also a member of the SWAT team.His death was a tragic loss not only for his family but also for the entire Northern Kentucky community. John Devine Jr. was later arrested and charged with murder, as well as other offenses including possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. He is currently awaiting trial.
